If you’re a PC gamer who just so happens to play high-click games like Genshin Impact, you may find yourself in a position I was in a few months ago. You’re minding your own business playing your game when you suddenly realize just how LOUD your mouse clicks really are. I decided I wanted a mouse that offered silent clicking, or at least clicking that wasn’t so loud.
So Many Buttons
First, I want to get this out of the way – I’m not the type of PC gamer that excels at mouse and keyboard gameplay. I grew up on Playstation and Xbox. I’m fine if the weapons of choice are bows or swords (like in Genshin or Skyrim). For first-person shooters, I’m useless unless you give me a controller. A mouse with extra buttons can be nice, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me.
Most Computer Mice Aren’t Silent
It didn’t take me long to realize most mice are either your typical (and loud) Logitec mice that are made for the average user, or they’re gamer mice that have plenty of extra buttons but nothing in place to dampen that sound.
I should know. I tried a variety of mice.
A Silent Mouse is Not Always Cheap
The other problem I encountered was the price. Some of the silent mouse options I came across were more than double or triple the cost of a basic Logitec mouse, and I have a hard time justifying spending that when the only real benefit was the silence. I just didn’t need any of the other specs listed.
Found: A Budget-Friendly Silent Mouse
After searching on Amazon for a while, I found a mouse from Uisomurph. As of December 2022, it lists for $17.99. This mouse really is silent. You may hear a slight thump noise while using it, but my husband can’t hear it at all if he’s in the room with me. It’s definitely not anything like a mouse click!
This mouse is pretty thin, which I wasn’t used to. I wouldn’t really call it ergonomic, especially if you want something that will fit the shape of your hand in a similar way to a standard mouse. It’s just too flat in comparison. Now that I’m used to it, though, it really doesn’t bother me. I like to use some kind of wrist rest, but you may not even need that.
Perks of the Uisomurph LED Silent Mouse
There’s also a perk for this mouse. Aside from being rechargeable so you don’t have to worry about batteries, it also lights up! Yes, the LED strip does drain the battery faster, but I can usually get several days of use out of it before I need to charge it.
There’s Always a Downside
The only real thing about this mouse that I don’t like is the lack of warning before it dies. That’s not unusual, especially if you use a mouse that uses batteries. Considering the mouse is less than $20.00, I think it’s pretty good if that’s my only complaint. But this mouse will go from working to not with no warning so if it isn’t working, you just need to recharge it.
I also would recommend using a mousepad. Again, not necessarily a bad thing, but I have had trouble using it on occasion because it did not like the surface. A mousepad always fixed the problem.
Pass or Purchase?
Overall, I would recommend this silent mouse. If you’re someone who just needs a left and right click and a scroll wheel, this mouse will fit your needs. If something happened to mine tomorrow, I would definitely buy it again!
